Everyday Care

Our wooden furniture is crafted from natural materials designed to bring warmth and character to your home. Following these care guidelines will help preserve the appearance and performance of your furniture over time.

1. Avoid direct sunlight
Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may cause timber to dry out, fade, darken, or crack over time. Position furniture away from windows where possible, or use curtains or blinds to limit direct UV exposure. Normal indoor lighting will not affect the timber.

2. Maintain a stable indoor environment
Wood naturally responds to changes in temperature and humidity. Extremely dry conditions may cause timber to shrink, while excessive humidity can lead to swelling or surface changes. Avoid placing wooden furniture near heaters, air conditioners, fireplaces, or vents.

3. Regular cleaning
Dust furniture regularly using a soft, dry cloth. For general cleaning, use a slightly damp soft cloth, then dry immediately with a clean cloth to prevent moisture from sitting on the surface.

4. Avoid excess moisture
Do not use very wet cloths or allow liquids to pool on wooden surfaces. Moisture can penetrate the timber and damage the finish. Always wipe spills immediately.

5. Use appropriate cleaning products
Avoid abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or products containing bleach, ammonia, alcohol, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the timber and its protective finish. If required, use a cleaner specifically designed for wooden furniture and follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

6. Protect from heat and scratches
Always use coasters, placemats, and trivets under hot items, food, drinks, and decorative objects. Avoid placing sharp or heavy objects directly on timber surfaces.

7. Prevent surface damage
We recommend using felt pads under decorative objects and under furniture legs to minimise surface marks and floor damage. Avoid dragging items across wooden surfaces.

8. Correct use and handling
Open and close drawers and doors gently to avoid unnecessary stress on joints and hardware. When moving furniture, lift rather than drag and ensure items are placed on a level surface.

9. Indoor use only

Wooden furniture is designed for indoor residential use. Exposure to outdoor conditions, excessive moisture, or extreme temperature changes is not recommended.
