Returns and Warranty

Returns: It Doesn’t Fit!

We understand that sometimes when buying furniture, things can go wrong.  That gorgeous bed that looks so fabulous in our showroom, won’t fit up your stairs or you’ve overestimated the length of that couch.

We will offer customers a 7-day store credit to exchange any items that you purchase and need to swap.

In this instance, we will provide a store credit for the purchase price of the item less any return costs (such as delivery and collection costs).

All items returned in this manner need to be in their original packaging and not assembled or part assembled in any form. 

We do reserve the right to refuse a returned item if it is found to be damaged or not able to be returned to our showroom sale stock.

 

Returns: Damaged Items

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

We request that all customers check their purchases within 24 hours from purchase.  Any damages to your items must be reported to our team immediately where upon a refund or warranty claim will be made.

The customer remains responsible for returning the items to our warehouse where it will be inspected.

If in our reasonable opinion, the product has damage due to reasonable wear and tear, misuse, incorrect assembly or failure to follow the manufacturers instructions, we will not issue a refund or claim.


Warranty

All James Lane furniture pieces (with the exclusion of fragile items) are covered by our 12-month warranty from the date of purchase.

This Warranty is subject to the Australian Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (“Australian Consumer Law”). The benefits provided in this Warranty are in addition to other rights and remedies of a consumer under the Australian Consumer Law, and any other laws in relation to the products to which this Warranty relates. 

This Warranty is not transferable and does not cover products used for commercial purposes

Exclusions: Subject to the Australian Consumer Law, this Warranty does not apply to any products sold as seconds, floorstock, repaired products, or products that have a defect where this has been drawn to the customer’s attention before the purchase of the product.

In addition, this Warranty will not apply if:

  • The product has not been used or cared for as per the manufacturers instructions
  • The product has failed due to misuse, abuse, spillages or exposure to extremely hot or cold conditions
  • The product has been modified or tampered with in any way

To make a warranty claim, you will need to have details of your product (including a receipt of purchase).  Please note that the customer is responsible for returning any products to our warehouse for inspection and assessment.
