Returns: Change of Mind

For products (excluding upholstered and furniture products, clearance and sale products,  products sold as seconds, floor stock, repaired products, or products that have a defect where this has been drawn to the customer’s attention before the purchase of the product) collected and paid for at the time of purchase in store, in addition to the rights granted by applicable statute (including the Australian Consumer Law), if you change your mind you may return the product within 7 days of the date of purchase provided that the product is returned in its original condition, is in its original unopened and sealed packaging, and is accompanied by proof of purchase (the sales receipt or another acceptable form of proof of purchase).

Except as set out above, James Lane shall not accept a cancellation for change of mind by a customer, unless James Lane chooses to do so at its absolute discretion.

If James Lane does accept such cancellation, the customer will forfeit 20% of the purchase price James Lane to reflect any loss that James Lane will suffer as consequence of the cancellation.  James Lane shall set off this amount against any moneys already paid to us by the customer for this product and refund the balance. Collection fee will also be charged if required.



Returns: It Doesn’t Fit!

We understand that sometimes when buying furniture, things can go wrong.  That gorgeous bed that looks so fabulous in our showroom, won’t fit up your stairs or you’ve overestimated the length of that couch.

We will offer customers a 7-day store credit to exchange any items that you purchase and need to swap.

In this instance, we will provide a store credit for the purchase price of the item less any return costs (such as delivery and collection fees incurred by us).

All items returned in this manner need to be in their original packaging and not assembled or part assembled in any form. 

We do reserve the right to refuse a returned item if it is found to be damaged or not able to be returned to our showroom sale stock.

 

Returns: Damaged Items

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

We request that all customers check their purchases within 48 hours from purchase.  Any damages to your items must be reported to your store of purchase immediately where upon a warranty claim will be made. James Lane reserves the right under consumer law to inspect any items as part of warranty claim assessment.

The customer remains responsible for returning the items to our warehouse where it will be inspected.

If in our reasonable opinion, the product has damage due to reasonable wear and tear, misuse, incorrect assembly or failure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions, we will not issue a refund or claim.


Refunds and Warranty

James Lane does offer a refund policy and a 12-month warranty on goods (some items may have an extended warranty, please refer to the individual products). Conditions apply.

You agree that you will not return any products without first informing Customer Service or the store of purchase.

No credit shall be given unless the products have been verified as being defective or otherwise valid for repair by James Lane.

If a refund is approved, refund will be processed and paid via direct deposit to your nominated bank account or credited back to your finance credit account.
