Influencer Spotlight - Mikayla Klewer

Tell us a bit about yourself?

My name is Mikayla and I’m currently living in Sydney Australia. My interests include home styling, fashion and anything lifestyle related. I’m currently a full time content creator and model and I’m beyond grateful for getting the chance to  work with such incredible brands, James Lane being one of them.

What does your home mean to you?

My home is my sanctuary, I feel most at peace when I’m at home. I take pride in my space and love creating an environment for both my friends and family to also feel comfortable in and enjoy.

What is your favourite room in your home, and why?

My living room. That is because it’s where I host the most, where my friends and I make the most memories, where we talk about our achievements, our good and bad days, where we make the most delicious meals. Pretty much where we all come together for some down time after a busy week.

How did you get interested in interiors and design?

It all started with an old dresser my Mum passed down to me when I was younger. I appreciated how much she valued it, and from there I always ended up finding old pieces that I thought had some unique character that I could renovate and salvage. Interior design has always sparked an interest in me. I’ve also dabbled in property staging in the past and was so passionate about it so I definitely feel as though I’ll reopen that chapter somewhere down the line.

Where do you find inspiration?

Pinterest is definitely more go to when looking for inspiration.

What are your top tips for a well styled home?

Keeping the space bright will always make the room feel so much bigger and fresher. You can always add a pop of colour later on. Layering is always another tip. Don’t over clutter the space and one rule I always go by is everything should always have a home.

If you could go anywhere in the world right now, where would you go?

New York.. there’s just something about it, it’s always been a dream of mine!!

Last question! What are your top 3 picks from James Lane?

Oh this is my favourite question. The Riley Muse Flax Sofa, Boucle Jute Rug, and Noma Dining Table. I can’t wait to see how these all look in the same space. The Boucle Jute Rug is my go to for all my rooms. The Riley Sofa is the most amazing couch I’ve ever sat on and the Noma table is the perfect simple dining table for any space. One thing I will say is I would love to see two bench seats that match the Noma one day!
